Kazim Ali

Kazim is interested in exploring the human body which is complex both in its physicality and as a thematic concern. The body, which is a core to perform everyday functions, keeps doing its tasks even most of the times without our conscious knowledge, while it goes though various emotional and spiritual stresses. His works are perhaps glimpses of those moments it goes through. Then the process of making is something Kazim enjoys very much. The amount of time spent physically and emotionally on the work makes it all the more closely connected to oneself. During the process the mind transfers the spiritual experience on the surface of the image or form. He considers these fossilised memories of everything that happened (spiritually) at the time of making as reflections of the self. He also hopes that his work touches more complex issues than the conscious ideas of behind the making.
