Imaginary Holidays by Luca Coclite
Digital Print, 50×70 cm
“Imaginary holidays” is a temporary action, evocative of the summer holiday carried out inside a building, at the same time resulting of the failure of “contemporary” and of its social utopias. Through the use of detonator smokes and stick rubbing, the artist created a temporary smoking to obscure the point of view of the viewer and the surrounding landscapes. Coclite act in an attempt to merge two landscapes dimensions: one populated and the other virgin, confusing the traits and coming to a momentary and ideal cancellation of the stable into disuse. This concealment for several minutes, aimed to weaken the structure visually fixing the emphasis on the cumbersome physical presence that in the moment of its disappearance reveals the process of representation.
